Fast,
Reliable and Ahead of the Pack |
Ogaden Online news media was the first media
outlet to report the defection of an
Ethiopian general to Eritrea.
Most of the media powerhouses such as
AFP and Reuters only wrote about
the defection a full day later than the
original reporting in Ogaden Online website.
Ogaden Online was the only media house to
publish the death of as many as twenty six
high ranking
Ethiopian military officials in the town of
Gaba Gabo on July 19
moments after
the helicopter was shot down. At
the time of our reporting, it was widely
believed that news of the helicopter crash
due to ONLF antiaircraft artillery has not
even reached the head of the autocracy in
Addis Ababa.
When Ogaden Online news prints reports
regarding these unheard of events, there are
those who are swift in accusing our
reporters of misreporting. However when days
later other outlets belatedly publish the
same events or reports, very few give our
reporters credit for their death defying,
heroic acts of expeditious journalism.
What is remarkable about the kind of
reporting provided by Ogaden Online
reporters in the horn of Africa is the fact
that they have very little or no access to
modern reporting equipment. They are
constantly under the threat of detention and
death by those who would have otherwise
wanted no reporting of extra judicial,
colonial events taking place in Ogaden and
Ethiopia.
Regardless of the impediments our reporters
always provide our readers fast and reliable
news available nowhere else on the
information superhighway known as the
worldwide web. It is this accuracy,
reliability and expeditiousness, which make
Ogaden Online news ahead of the pack of all
media outlets when it comes to the horn of
Africa news.
Ogaden Online editorial board would like to
take this opportunity to congratulate all
Ogaden Online news reporters throughout the
globe for quality of reporting with no
equals. We know the job of reporting will
never be complete but you deserve
compliments for your speedy yet accurate and
dependable reporting.
