HAPPY BIRTHDAY OGADEN ONLINE !!!!!!!!!!
This month Ogaden
Online celebrates it's 7th Anniversary. Since May
19, 1998 Ogaden Online has informed the
international community of the true political,
economic and social environment of Ogaden. During
these seven years, Ogaden Online has gone through
many facelifts. We have made every attempt to
improve both functionality and content. Through an
exclusive partnership with Radio Freedom (radio
xoriyo), Ogaden Online informed countless
listeners of current events in Ogaden while
broadcasting an impressive variety of music, poetry,
informational programs and memorable interviews.
As we look back at these past seven years, we note
all the challenges we have overcome, all the voices
that said it could not be done and all of those who
helped make Ogaden Online what it is, the premier
source of information on Ogaden anywhere.
Looking forward, we note that there is still much to
be done. We will make every efforts to make Ogaden
Online as interactive as possible. In the months and
years ahead, Ogaden Online will not only remain the
leader in information and news on Ogaden but will
also serve as a primary meeting place on the
internet for those interested in the issues
affecting the Somali people of Ogaden.
As we continue to evolve and improve we wish to
issue a special thanks to our founders. A special
group of students, educators and concerned citizens
who joined together in a listserve called 'Golaha
Galbeed' to create this website. While the internet
forum that linked those individuals no longer
exists, Ogaden Online is their lasting legacy and
service to their people and nation. We therefore
salute our founders and commit to continue Ogaden
Online in the years to come.
Finally we wish to thank all the viewers of Ogaden
Online for their continued support. Without you,
Ogaden Online would not have continued to improve
over the past seven years. We welcome all your input
and feedback and hope you will continue to share
your thoughts with us in the future
